Removing Barriers with Dreamweaver has been written
and designed with all users in mind. Fully able users and
disabled users of all disciplines from visual impairments
to students with learning difficulties.
The concept of "Removing Barriers", is in regards
to allowing the application Macromedia Dreamweaver to become
easier to learn through the training method and additional
features built within this training course. Secondly, the
training course takes you through the fundamentals of web
development including HTML, and only utilises accessible
web development techniques. All techniques taught throughout
the course conform to W3C's Web
Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0. (WCAG 1.0)
W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) are the governing
body of web technologies such as HTML and CSS. The WCAG 1.0
is a recommendation of development techniques that allow
web sites and web based documents to become accessible to
all users. This enables remote technology to access pages,
screen readers and adaptive technology to easily translate
documents.
The courses wide range of accessibility features
allows for open use of the training material by incorporating
non graphical text throughout the course, keyboard access
keys, user control over animations and interactions and actual
tutor support.
Please note that our product does not claim to
be 'Barrier Free' which is another term used to describe
IT products that are liberated of ALL accessibility restrictions,
however our course has made major in-roads in reducing these
barriers. |
