Course Content

The course content is broken down into five modules:

Module 1: The Internet and HTML. In this module you will learn about the Internet and how it began. As well as some basics about hardware technology, you will learn the fundamentals of the programming language "HTML" (HyperText Markup Language) which is the core programming language that constructs web pages.

Module 2: The Application Macromedia Dreamweaver MX. In this Module, you will learn how to use Dreamweaver MX to create a simple website. You will work in the Dreamweaver MX environment using its layout, tools and also its HELP feature.

Module 3: Web design, accessibility and tables. In this module, you will learn about some of the key features of web page development as well as understanding the principles and regulations behind accessibility.

Module 4: Creating web pages and accessibility through CSS. In this module, you are now at a point where you can combine the elements you learned in modules 1 to 3 into a single web page. You will also learn about Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) - which describe how a web page or document is displayed in a browser. This is an emerging technology that significantly increases the accessibility of a website.

When you have completed the first four modules and been successful in all of the quizzes on the learning hub, you will receive an email that prepares you for:

Module 5: Completing and uploading a web site. You will be able to complete your own web site, upload it and receive feedback from your tutor on it.
